A QR code that opens the right thing.

Choose what the code should open, type it in, and download a code you can print on a counter card, a signboard or a visiting card. It is made in your browser, so nothing you type reaches a server.

Your number, message and links stay on this page. We never see them.

The tool

What should the code open?

Colours, strength and print size

Error correction (how much damage it survives)

The usual choice for print and screens.

At 4 cm wide, it should scan from about 40 cm away. A rule of thumb: ten times its width.

Before you print it.

  • Pick one job per code

A code that opens a WhatsApp chat is for people at the counter. A code that opens your Google review link is for the end of a visit. Print them separately and say what each does in words.

  • Use SVG for print

PNG is fine on a screen. For a card, a board or a flex banner, give the printer the SVG. It stays sharp at any size.

  • Keep it dark on light

Phones read a dark code on a light background best. Inverted or low-contrast codes fail on many phones, and the tool warns you.

  • Test before you order

Scan the finished print with two different phones, in the light where it will hang. A code is only as good as the worst phone that tries it.

About this tool.

Something we haven’t covered? Ask us.

Is the QR code free, and does it expire?

Yes, it is free. The code is made on your device and contains the link itself, so it never expires and does not depend on us or on any service. If you change the link later, you make a new code.

Is my phone number or link sent to a server?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser. We do not receive the number, the message or the link.

Should I use PNG or SVG?

Use PNG for screens, WhatsApp status and Instagram. Use SVG for print: it stays sharp at any size, from a visiting card to a flex banner. Give the SVG file to your printer.

How big should it be printed?

As a rule of thumb a code scans from about ten times its printed width. A 4 cm code scans from about 40 cm, which suits a counter card. For a shop window or a signboard, make it much larger, and test it from where people will stand.

Why does my code not scan?

The usual causes are low contrast, a code lighter than its background, a link that is very long, a glossy surface that reflects light, or printing too small. Keep dark on light, use a shorter link, and test with two phones.

How do I find my Google review link?

Open your Google Business Profile, choose the option to get more reviews, and copy the link it shows. Paste it into the Google review tab.
