Plan the year, before the festival.

Shops, jewellers, food businesses and schools in Rajasthan sell around a handful of dates. This calendar lists them with one practical idea each. Filter it by the kind of business you run, then add it to your phone.

Fixed dates are certain. Moving festivals marked with a 2027 date came from published festival calendars and should be confirmed on a panchang before you print anything. The rest show only their usual month. Checked 31 October 2026.

The calendar

January

  • Thu 14 Jan

    Fixed date

    Makar Sankranti (Jaipur kite day)

Jaipur's rooftops are the story. Sweets, kites and a clear sky photo travel well. A greeting from the owner beats a discount banner.

  • Tue 26 Jan

    Fixed date

    Republic Day

A short thank-you message or a schools-and-community post. Keep it respectful: no sales language on the day itself.

  • Usually held in January; check the festival's own site for dates

    Usual timing, date varies

    Jaipur Literature Festival

Cafes, shops and hotels near the venue can plan a visitor-facing offer. Business services can plan networking posts.

March

  • Sat 6 Mar

2027 date, confirm on a panchang

    Maha Shivaratri

A quiet, respectful post. Fasting-friendly menus and temple-visit timings are useful to customers.

  • Mon 8 Mar

    Fixed date

    International Women's Day

Feature real women on your team or among your customers, with their permission. Avoid a generic discount.

  • Mon 22 Mar

2027 date, confirm on a panchang

    Holi (Dhulandi, the colour day)

Order and stock early. Greetings and safe-play tips (skin and eye care, stain-proof packaging) help more than a banner.

  • Tue 30 Mar

    Fixed date

    Rajasthan Day (30 March)

A local pride post: a Rajasthani craft, recipe, place or person connected to your work. Real, specific, and yours.

  • Usually March or April, soon after Holi

    Usual timing, date varies

    Gangaur

A festival closely tied to Rajasthan's women, with jewellery, clothing and sweets. Plan the content before Holi finishes.

April

  • Thu 1 Apr

    Fixed date

New financial year starts (1 April)

A natural moment for B2B offers, account reviews and a clear price list for the year.

  • Thu 15 Apr

2027 date, confirm on a panchang

    Ram Navami

A greeting and temple-visit timing. Keep it plain and respectful.

  • Usually April or May

    Usual timing, date varies

    Akshaya Tritiya

Traditionally an auspicious day for buying gold and starting new ventures. Plan gift and starter-pack content ahead.

  • Some auspicious dates in April, May and June; exact dates change every year

    Usual timing, date varies

Wedding season (spring and early summer)

A smaller season than winter. Confirm the year's dates before you plan stock or ads.

  • Usually April; admissions often run from December to April

    Usual timing, date varies

    School year begins

Schools: see the admissions calendar. Shops: uniforms, stationery and bags need stock and messages before the term starts.

May

  • Sun 9 May

    Fixed date

Mother's Day (second Sunday of May)

Gift guides by budget are more useful than a single hero product. Say how late an order can arrive in time.

June

  • Sun 20 Jun

    Fixed date

Father's Day (third Sunday of June)

A simple gift guide and one clear message. Skip forced humour.

July

  • Usually July or August, in the monsoon

    Usual timing, date varies

    Hariyali Teej

Green and festive clothing, bangles, mehendi and sweets. Rajasthan celebrates it widely, so local photography works.

August

  • Sun 15 Aug

    Fixed date

    Independence Day

A short thank-you and a community post. Avoid national symbols in your logo or product design.

  • Usually August

    Usual timing, date varies

    Raksha Bandhan

Gift and sweets orders peak early. Say clearly the last day for delivery and for out-of-town orders.

  • Usually August or September

    Usual timing, date varies

    Janmashtami

Decoration, sweets and dress for children. A greeting and a how-to is enough.

2027 date, confirm on a panchang

    Ganesh Chaturthi

Sweets and decoration. A greeting and clear opening hours for the days around it.

  • Sun 5 Sep

    Fixed date

    Teachers' Day (5 September)

Schools and coaching centres: a thank-you from students or parents, with permission. Shops: a small gift guide.

October

  • Sat 2 Oct

    Fixed date

    Gandhi Jayanti (2 October)

A quiet post tied to khadi, local craft or community work, if it is genuinely part of what you do.

  • Fri 29 Oct

2027 date, confirm on a panchang

Diwali (with Dhanteras before and Bhai Dooj after)

A major buying season for gifts, jewellery, home goods and sweets. Dhanteras is two days before and Bhai Dooj two days after Diwali. Plan stock, content and staffing a month ahead.

  • Usually September or October; Dussehra follows the nine nights

    Usual timing, date varies

    Navratri and Dussehra

Garba and festive clothing, sweets, and a new-vehicle or new-start moment for many. Start content two weeks ahead.

  • Usually October or November

    Usual timing, date varies

    Karwa Chauth

Mehendi, gifts, jewellery and sweets. Plan evening opening hours and a clear last-order time.

November

  • Sun 14 Nov

    Fixed date

    Children's Day (14 November)

Schools can show real activities, with consent for any child's image. Shops can offer simple gift guides.

  • Roughly November to February; exact auspicious dates change every year

    Usual timing, date varies

    Wedding season (winter)

Plan photography, invitations, catering and jewellery content weeks ahead. Ask your pandit or planner for the year's dates.

  • Usually in November; dates follow the lunar calendar

    Usual timing, date varies

    Pushkar fair

Rajasthan's tourism moment. Hotels, guides and craft shops can plan visitor-facing content and clear prices in advance.

December

  • Sat 25 Dec

    Fixed date

    Christmas and year-end

Cafes, bakeries and gift shops can plan a short season. Services can send a year-end thank-you and a calendar of next year's offers.

  • Fri 31 Dec

    Fixed date

    New Year's Eve (31 December)

Events and dining plan early and book out. A look-back post with real moments from your year suits any business.

The calendar file holds every entry that has a date. Entries with only a usual timing are left out on purpose, so no date is guessed.

Asked often in this sector.

Something we haven’t covered? Ask us.

Where do the dates come from?

Fixed dates are civil days, such as Republic Day or Rajasthan Day. Moving festivals with a 2027 date are taken from published festival calendars, and they are marked so you can confirm them against a panchang you trust. Festivals with only a usual month are shown as a timing, not a date.

Why are some festivals shown without a date?

Many Indian festivals follow the lunar calendar and move each year, and a wrong date on a printed banner is expensive. We show the usual window and leave the exact date to a panchang.

Can I add it to my phone calendar?

Yes. The calendar file holds every entry that has a date. Import it into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.

Are the ideas proven?

No. They are common practice, offered as starting points. Nothing here claims a result or an audience size. Test what works for your own customers.

Is this only for Rajasthan?

It leans on Rajasthan and Jaipur, such as Gangaur, Teej, Rajasthan Day and Jaipur's kite day, but most festivals are shared across north India.
