A landing page is where an ad, a message or a search result sends a person. It is different from a home page, which has many jobs. A landing page has one goal, such as a call, a WhatsApp chat, a form or a booking, and everything on it should help the visitor reach that goal.
Before you build
- One goal: call, chat, form or booking. Choose one as the main action.
- One audience: write for the person who clicked, not for everybody.
- One promise: the thing the ad or the search result said. The page must start by confirming it, in the same words.
- One measure: how many people take the action. Decide what you will count before you spend.
The first screen on a phone
- A headline that repeats the promise in plain words, with no jargon.
- One line that says who it is for and where, such as the city or area you serve.
- The main button, big enough to tap, in the first screen, and a second route for people who prefer to talk: a call or a WhatsApp link.
- A real photo or a plain, fast image, not a heavy slider.
Below the first screen
- What you do, in three or four lines, in the order a buyer asks the questions.
- Proof that you can be trusted: real clients and cases you have permission to show, honest reviews, how long you have worked, who will do the work. Do not invent numbers.
- What happens next, in steps: you send a message, we call within a stated time, we send a written plan.
- Answers to the three questions people ask most, such as price, time and what is included.
- The same button again at the end.
The form
- Ask for as little as you need to start: name, phone or email, and one line about the need.
- Mark optional fields as optional, and use the right keyboard on a phone for phone numbers and email.
- Say plainly how you will use the details, and ask for consent for anything beyond answering the enquiry.
- After sending, show a clear thank-you with what happens next and by when, and do not promise an email you will not send.
Why WhatsApp belongs on it
Many Indian customers would rather message than fill in a form. Add a chat link that opens WhatsApp with a ready first message such as I would like to know about your service, and tag it so you can see which page it came from. Use the QR code generator to make the same link into a code for print, and set the business up properly with the WhatsApp Business setup guide.
Speed, trust and tracking
- Test on a mid-range phone and a normal mobile connection, not on your office wifi. A page that takes more than a few seconds to show something loses people before they read it.
- Show your business name, address and phone number on the page, matching your Google Business Profile.
- Add a privacy line and your terms, and use only the tracking you need.
- Tag the link in each ad so you can see which one brings enquiries, and look at the numbers weekly, not daily.
Before you spend on ads
Click your own ad on your phone and fill in the form. Does the page match the ad? Does the button work? Does the confirmation arrive and does a person answer in the time you promised? Fix those before you pay for traffic. For help planning the page or the campaign, see our performance marketing service, use the website readiness checklist, or send a short brief.
