This is the second of our Jaipur brand notes. A business that sells by WhatsApp often has strong products and a catalogue that looks like a camera roll. Fixing that is cheap, and it is mostly decisions, not design.
The profile is the first page
Before anyone reads a product name they see a profile photo, a business name and a short description. Use the logo in its square version, spelled and styled the way it appears on the board and the website. Fill in the hours, the address and the website. A profile that matches the rest of the brand tells the customer they have reached the real business.
Photographs that look like one family
A catalogue of photographs taken on different days, on different tables, in different light, looks like a collection of listings. Pick one background, one angle and one way of lighting, and keep them for every product. That consistency is a bigger upgrade than a better camera. The glossary entry on art direction explains how studios set it.
Names and descriptions in one voice
Name products the same way every time: a short name, the key detail, then the size or variant. Write descriptions in a consistent tone of voice. If one item is described in formal English, the next in casual Hindi and a third in capitals, the catalogue sounds like three sellers.
Say what customers ask first
Most conversations begin with the same questions: price, size, delivery, payment. Write the answers once as saved replies and put the delivery and return rules in the business description. You answer faster, and the answers always match.
Greeting and away messages
A greeting message and an away message are free, and they set the tone of the first reply. Say who you are, what you sell and when you will be back. If your website promises a reply time, the WhatsApp message should say the same one.
Keep a record of who asked
Use labels to mark new enquiries, quoted, paid and delivered. It takes ten seconds and turns a chat list into a simple pipeline. Customers who leave without buying can be followed up once, politely, and the rest can be left alone.
A catalogue is brand work that happens to live in an app. If you would like it set up properly, with the logo, photography rules and replies in one system, that is part of our creative and content service. If you are not sure where to begin, our free brand health check shows where the brand is losing people.
