UX vs UI
UX, or user experience, is how easy and useful a product is to use from start to finish. UI, or user interface, is the visual and interactive layer people actually see and touch: layout, buttons, type and colour. Good UI supports good UX, but it cannot replace it.
In practice
What it means when you are the one making the decision.
UX covers the whole journey: what a visitor wants, how they find it, where they get stuck and whether they finish. It involves research, structure, content order and testing. A page can look polished and still have poor UX if people cannot find the price or complete the form.
UI is the craft of making the experience clear and pleasant: hierarchy, spacing, contrast, states for hover, focus and error, and consistency. Strong teams work on both together, since structure decisions shape what the interface needs to show.
Example
A booking page where the visitor must register before seeing prices has a UX problem. A date picker with tiny, low-contrast buttons has a UI problem. Both lose customers.
