Media kit
A media kit, or press kit, is a ready pack of information for journalists: a short company profile, leadership bios, key facts, logos, approved photographs and contact details. It makes it easy for the press to cover a business accurately and quickly.
In practice
What it means when you are the one making the decision.
A good kit contains only what a journalist will use. That means a clear description in plain language, high-resolution images with permission to publish, a few facts that are easy to verify and a named contact who answers quickly.
Keep it current and easy to find online. For events, add a schedule, speaker bios and sponsor information. An out-of-date kit with old figures or a departed spokesperson damages credibility.
Example
A festival publishes a page with its logo files, a one-paragraph description, speaker photographs, dates and a press contact, so every outlet starts from the same facts.
